Annette
Language: French (Français)
L'autre jour la bergère Annette,
Ayant perdu son bel agneau,
Pleuroit, et disoit à l'écho
Ses chagrins, que l'écho répète :
  Ah ! bel agneau, tu me trompois,
  Lorsque tu paroissois me chérir pour la vie ;
  Hélas ! d'après mon coeur, je n'aurois cru jamais
  Que l'on pût quitter son amie.

Je t'ai vu, dédaignant l'herbette,
Mieux aimer souffrir de la faim,
Que de prendre d'une autre main
Les fleurs que t'apportoit Annette.
  Ah ! bel agneau, tu me trompois etc.

Au moindre son de ma musette,
Je te voyois vîte accourir ;
Aujourd'hui tu m'entends gémir,
Et tu fuis loin de ton Annette.
  Ah ! bel agneau , tu me trompois etc.

Confirmed with Œvres complettes de M. de Florian, tome premier, Paris, 1805. Note: Hensel's text uses more modern spelling (stanza 2, line 4 : "t'apportoit" -> "t'apportait" and stanza 3 line 2 : "voyois" -> "voyais"
