by Josep Carner i Puigoriol (1884 - 1970)

Somni
Language: Catalan (Català)
He somiat que entre la mar nocturna
una sirena de bell si d'argent
em deia:-Fill d'aqueixa vil cofurna,
la dura terra sense argent llisquent,

fita avui la mirada taciturna
en les lluors de l'onejar brunzent:
són l'alfabet en argentada espurna
del bell amor, immarcescible al vent-.

Jo m'abocava a aprendre aquell misteri
d'un gran defalliment i un gran imperi.
El vent, però, de tot senyal escrit

deixà, en passant, escorrialles soles,
i cantava:-En tan lleus abeceroles,
la lletra mor abans no té sentit.
