Klein Häslein

Klein Häslein wollt' spazieren geh'n,
spazieren ganz allein,
da hat's das Bächlein nicht geseh'n,
und - plumps! - fiel es hinein.

Das Wasser trug's dem Tale zu,
dort, wo die Mühle geht,
und wo sich ohne Rast und Ruh'
das alte Mühlrad dreht.

Nicht wusst' das Häslein, was geschah,
in seiner Wassernot,
doch wie's das große Mühlrad sah,
griff's zu mit jeder Pfot'.

Und langsam drehte sich das Rad, 
fest hielt's der kleine Has',
und wie er oben war gerad',
sprang er seitab ins Gras.

Wie lief mein Häslein schnell nach Haus',
vorbei war die Gefahr;
die Mutter klopft' ihm's Fellchen aus,
bis dass es trocken war.
