Schwälblein aus dem warmen Land,
wer hat denn dich hierher gesandt?
Umsonst singst du hier Liebe.
Ich rate dir mit treuem Sinn:
Zieh wieder nach dem Süden hin,
hier is es rauh und trübe.

O Schwälblein mit der weißen Brust,
wer hat denn dich in Lieb' und Lust
so weit hinweggetrieben?
Hier find'st du nicht den Sonnenschein
und nicht das warme Nestchen klein;
o wärst du weggeblieben!

O Schwälblein mit der Liebe Blick,
zieh doch in jenes Land zurück,
wo Liebeslust nicht schwindet.
Und find'st du dort ein Herzlein mild,
was aufnimmt gern der Liebe Bild,
so mach, dass es mich findet!
