C’est l’heure où le printemps revêt de nouveaux charmes,
Où le ciel est plus pur, où l’air est plus subtil,
Où le cœur s’en revient comme d’un long exil
Vers les enchantements qui font couler les larmes.

On est ivre d’aimer en la clarté des yeux,
La douceur des aveux et la candeur des rêves.
Et sans se soucier des illusions brèves,
Gaiement, l’âme fait ses désirs plus radieux.

Mes vœux s’en vont au loin comme des caravelles
Aventureuses, car, voyant votre beauté,
Et sentant monter d’elle un parfum de bonté,
Mon cœur s’épanouit de fl oraisons nouvelles !

L’amour a ressurgi, fi er et majestueux,
L’allégresse de vivre a pénétré mon âme ;
Pour dire ma ferveur que le printemps acclame,
J’aurai votre regard étrange et fastueux.
