Objet charmant, toi, que mon cœur adore, Ton souvenir me poursuit en tous lieux ; La nuit, le jour, au lever de l'aurore, C'est toujours toi que j'ai devant les yeux, Je me croyais insensible et volage, Jamais l'amour n'avait fixé mon cœur ; J'ai vu Charmir au printemps de son âge Et pour jamais j'ai vu fuir le bonheur.
