Ever yours sincerely
Language: English
Today I choose no startling theme
For simple ones please better
And so I sing tho' strange it seems
Just three words of a letter
Which all have seen, and heart, or read,
Or felt - some dim, some clearly.
The simple words that cause my song
Are "Ever yours sincerely."

We know in truth there lies a charm
Beneath the outward meaning,
A silver thread that glides along
Much stronger than the seeming,
It guides the hand that writes with ease
To hearts that love most dearly
And throws a halo round the words
Of "Ever yours sincerely."

More love and truth in simple words
Than studied phrase endearing,
A sunny beam that pierces through
The mist of doubt and fearing
And so I write to one and all,
Unknown, or oved right dearly,
Believe me, as I always am
Still "Ever yours sincerely."
