O laß an deiner Seite mich, im Kreise deines Lichts! Ich will ja fromm und ruhig sein -- laß mich, ich will ja nichts! An süß Gekose denk' ich nicht, an Druck der Hände nicht; An einen Kuß -- o nicht von fern! Laß mich, ich will ja nichts! Laß ruh'n mein Haupt an deiner Brust; wil ruh'n so zart, so rein, Wie Schwanenfittig auf dem See -- laß mich, ich will ja nichts! Ich ford're ja nicht Liebe, nein! -- was drückst du mir so streng Des Hasses Pfeil ins tiefste Herz? Laß mich, ich will ja nichts!
