Schlummerlied
Language: German (Deutsch)
Es ruhet die Welt in Abendduft,
die Sonne schläft, es schweigt die Luft;
die Blätter nicht spielen im Abendwind,
schlaf ein, schlaf ein, mein süßes Kind!

Die Wellen nicht murmeln im blauen See,
sanft träumt im Schilfe die holde Fee;
die Wipfel nicht rauschen im Abendschein,
mein süßes Kind, schlaf ein, schlaf ein!

Die Blume schläft, doch haucht sie Duft
[in die]1 stillverschwiegene Abendluft;
es ruht das Herz, doch denkt es dein,
mein süßes Kind, schlaf ein, schlaf ein!

In sich versunken träumt der Hain,
des Nordens Stern bestrahlt ihn rein;
still ist die Freude, still der Schmerz,
fort pulst des Schöpfers großes Herz!
