Hoch über den Sternen
Language: German (Deutsch)
Hoch über den Sternen,
wie muss es so friedlich sein:
Am himmlischen Bogen
tief unten das Wogen
der Menschen um irdischen Schein!

Hoch über den Sternen,
wie muss es so selig sein:
Ihr Leiden, ihr Freuden,
entflohen euch beiden,
so fern euch zu seh'n und so klein!

Hoch über den Sternen,
wie muss es so heiter sein:
Die Nebel, die Nächte
zu schau'n, dem Geschlechte
der Menschen zur lastenden Pein!

Hoch über den Sternen,
wie muss es so göttlich sein:
Das Raten und Wähnen,
das Ahnen, das Sehnen
verkläret im himmlischen Schein!
