La Cavalcata della Morte
Language: Italian (Italiano)
Morte, non io ti temo:
non t’amo, né ti abborro:
oltre il destino io corro,
fiso a un sogno supremo.

Al rotar di tua falce
torcesi la foresta:
passi, e un cumulo resta
di teschi e un po’ di calce!

Oh cavalca, cavalca,
Morte sterminatrice;
ma finché l’infelice
torma nel sol si accalca,

tu non sei giusta, o Morte!
Tu non sei che una cieca
ombra che il male arreca
o il ben di nostra sorte!

Nelle occhiaie tue fonde
Amor depone un fiore:
da quel soffio d’amore
nuova vita si effonde.

Tu rinnovi e distruggi
La vita e i sogni, o Morte!
Son io di te più forte:
ti guardo e tu mi sfuggi!
