by Karl August Nicander (1799 - 1839)

Hvem?
Language: Swedish (Svenska)
Säg! hvem du var!
suckar mitt hjerta men får intet svar.
Echo bak' skogen sig gömmer
sitter och drömmer.

Var du en syn?
Gjuten en morgon ur flammande skyn
Hvarför din vinge då höja?
Hvarför ej dröja.

Var du en dröm
Fluten till slumrar'n på nattvindens ström?
O! hvarför skulle han vakna
Blott att dig sakna.

Klingar ej svar
Till mig ur guldmoln - jag vet hvem du var
Bud som till bragder mig manat
Bud, som jag anat.

Sen jag dig såg,
Tänder en stjerna ur östern min håg;
Vinkar till land bortom hafven,
Släcks ej vid grafven - - -

Dröj i min själ,
Heliga bild - jag vill gömma dig väl.
Lys som en sol genom töcknen
Vandrarn i öknen.
