Trostlied der Blinden

Ich Blinder seh' des Äthers blaues Licht,
den Rosenglanz des Morgenhimmels nicht;

ins Blumenmeer, von Farb' und Duft umhaucht,
hat nimmer trunken sich mein Blick getaucht.

Das Leben schweigt mir üb'rall nah' und fern,
denn tiefe Nacht deckt meinen Augenstern.

Doch tröst' ich mich und sing' im Frohgemüt
zu Gott mein Morgen- und mein Abendlied.
