by Ernst Konrad Friedrich Schulze (1789 - 1817)

Vergebliches Wünschen
Language: German (Deutsch)
O lindes Duften, holdes Keimen,
o frisches Leben, laues Licht,
wie neckst du mich mit süßen Träumen,
doch was ich träume, gibst du nicht!

Die Blüten fallen und verwehen,
und neue blühen auf dem Baum;
die Sonne bleibt am Himmel stehen
und sieht herab und merkt es kaum.

Und säng' ich auch so viele Lieder,
als Blüten glänzen nah' und fern,
sie klängen und verklängen wieder,
und was ich wünsche, bliebe fern.

Confirmed with Sämmtliche poetische Werke von Ernst Schulze, 3. Theil, Leipzig, 1855.
