Ich stieg, ein Vogel, in der Lüfte Blau, die Sonne war hinab mit ihrem Glanze; im Abendsterne stand die schönste Frau und schlug ein Saitenspiel als wie zum Tanze. Die Sterne traten an des Himmels Kranze hervor und horchten auf das Lied genau; sie kreisten schweigend, und es fiel der Tau zur Erd' hinab auf jede durst'ge Pflanze.
