Zum Himmel
Language: German (Deutsch)
Im Erdental
gibt's Leid und Qual,
im Himmel nur ist Frieden,
den unser Gott
nach gutem Tod
den Menschen hat beschieden.

Schmal ist der Steg,
hart ist der Weg
für den, der aufwärts schreitet,
doch unverzagt
es jeder wagt,
den Himmelsgnade leitet.

Ich hab's erfasst,
dass leicht die Last
und süß das Joch den Frommen
und bin bereit,
im Hochzeitskleid,
Herr, wenn du rufst, zu kommen.
