Der Sturm
Language: German (Deutsch)
Ich hörte mir Graus
im Dunkel der Nacht
des Sturmes Gebraus,
als trüb ich gewacht.

Ich blickt' in mein Herz,
ich dacht' an die Welt
und fühlte, aus Schmerz
ist beides bestellt.

Mein Leben so arm,
so düster mein Sinn,
mein Lieben so warm,
mein Hoffen dahin.

Wild stürmte mein Blut;
Herz, flieh' deiner Haft!
Es sinkt mir der Mut,
es bricht mir die Kraft!

Da hellt mir ein Stern
die tötende Nacht;
ihm folge ich gern,
der treu mich bewacht.

O Vater, dein Kind,
es dankt dir so heiß!
O führ' es gelind,
dem Sturm nicht zum Preis!
