by Julius (Ernst Wilhelm) Stinde (1841 - 1905)

Der Reif hängt an den Halmen
Language: German (Deutsch)
Der Reif hängt an den Halmen
Und beugt sie schwer herab,
Aus den erstarrten Händen
Sinkt laß der Wanderstab.

Meine Brüder alle haben
Ein Haus und Weib und Kind.
Wo ich auch geh' auf Erden
Doch Niemand Liebes find'.

Ein Schüler bin ich blieben
All meine Lebenszeit.
Herr Gott! Gieb du mir Frieden
In deiner Ewigkeit.
