by Karin Boye (1900 - 1941)

Bål
Language: Swedish (Svenska)
Genomskinlig, klar och het,
vackra mantel, slå opp,
smyg dig tätt som ett vatten
om min väntande kropp.
Jag står bunden och stilla,
har ej trots att spilla.

Har ej motstånd mer,
ingen lönlös strid.
Så i ångest utan luft
får man bidandets frid.
Här har allt hopp stannat,
vill inget annat.

Som ett asplöv min kropp,
som en flämtning min själ,
och där långt innanför
är jag fri likaväl.
Stor tystnad rör mig
bortom allt som förgör mig.
