Abendgebet
Language: German (Deutsch)
  O lieber Gott im Himmel droben,
Der Tag ist hin, es kommt die Nacht;
Nun will ich Dich von Herzen loben,
Daß Du so treulich mich bewacht
Durch Deiner lieben Engel Hut;
O Gott, Du bist so treu und gut!

  Dein Kind will sich nun niederlegen,
O lieber Gott zu stiller Ruh;
So decke Du mit Deinem Segen,
Mit Deiner Liebe warm mich zu;
Behüte mich die ganze Nacht
Durch Deiner heil'gen Engel Wacht.

  Herr Deinen süßen Frieden sende
Dem Vater und dem Mütterlein,
Und halte Deine Segenshände
Auch über den Geschwistern mein,
Und führ uns all nach dieser Zeit
Zu Deines Himmels Seligkeit! Amen.
