Die Mädchen haben dich so gern, Orakelblume!
Sie pflücken deinen Blütenstern, Orakelblume,
wenn sie verliebt sind oder Braut!
Dann rupfen sie, dann zupfen sie
An deinen Blättchen weiß und traut:

Was du den Mädchen prophezeist, Orakelblume!
Sich oft als Lug und Trug erweist, Orakelblume!
Jedoch so lang es Mädchen gibt,
so rupfen sie, so zupfen sie
an dir, denn sie sind stets verliebt:

Refrain
 Er liebt mich von Herzen
 mit Schmerzen . . .
 über alle Maßen,
 kann's gar nicht lassen . . .
 insgeheim,
 nur zum Schein, ein wenig oder gar nicht!

Und bleibt: "Er liebt mich!"
ganz zum Schluß,
bekommst du von den Mägdlein
im Tod noch einen Kuß!
