by Martin Boelitz (1874 - 1918)

Lied der Frau
Language: German (Deutsch)
Wer hätte gedacht,
Daß die Rosen so schnell verwehen!
In einer stillen Sommernacht
Ist es geschehen.

Klingen und Singen
War unsre junge Seligkeit,
Ein Spiel mit goldnen Ringen
In süßer Heimlichkeit.

Mutter, liebe Mutter mein,
War deine Seele auch so müd?
Schau ich in mein Herz hinein,
Ist alles verblüht.

Meiner Träume Silberkähne
Fuhren weit hinaus aufs Meer,
Nun schick ich die weißen Schwäne
Der Sehnsucht hinterher.

Sie kommen mit schwarzen Booten
An den Strand,
Und bringen mir die toten
Wünsche aus dem Mädchenland.
