by Julie von Bechtolsheim (1751 - 1847)

Die Blume aus Norden
Language: German (Deutsch)
Du, aus Äther-Düften zaubervoll gewebet,
Du, von hoher Götter reinem Hauch beseelet,
Blume sanfter Huld!

Ach! kein Lüftchen löse deine zartern Blätter,
Keine Sonnen gluten löschen je die Farben
Süßer Anmuth Bild!

Alter Blicke tauchen sich in deinen Schimmer,
Alles naht dein Dufte, doch der stille Kenner --
--Doppelt fühlt er dich.

Nenn' ich deinen Namen, holde Wunderblume? --
Nein! mit seelenvoller heiliger Empfindung
Birgt ihn fromm das Herz.

Confirmed with Der Freimüthige, oder Ernst und Scherz., nro. 142, 18 Juli 1805, Berlin: Heinrich Fröhlich, page 51
