Wenn die hellen Glocken klingen, geht die liebe Mutter fort, in die schöne Kirche dort, wo sie beten, wo sie singen, wo sie beten, wo sie singen. Wo von Gott dem Herrn sie hören und vom lieben Jesus Christ, wie so treu und gut er ist, wie ihn alle Welt soll ehren, wie ihn alle Welt soll ehren. Kommt nun meine Mutter wieder, lang schon sah ich aus nach ihr, tritt sie schnell herein zu mir, setzt sich freundlich bei mir nieder, setzt sich freundlich bei mir nieder. Saget mir, wie sie gesehen Und gehört hat, alles dort, und von Gott manch' gutes Wort, wie ein Kind es kann verstehen, wie ein Kind es kann verstehen. O wie hör' ich das so gerne, und wie gerne sagt' sie's mir; welche Freude macht' es ihr, daß ich recht drauf acht' und lerne, daß ich recht drauf acht' und lerne.
