Nimm an, es gäbe einen Himmelsherrn;
so wollen wir von ihm für einst erflehn:
er lasse uns auf irgendeinem Stern
als einen Strauch voll Rosen auferstehn.
Ich will die Wurzel sein, Du sei der Strauch,
ich will die Zweige sein, Du sei das Blatt,
ich sei die Rose, Du sei ihr Arom.
So ineinander unaufhörlich satt,
so eins in jeder Faser, jedem Hauch,
sei unser Leben dann Ein Dankesstrom.
