A prayer in absence
Language: English
Birds in leafy closes Sing their songs glad-hearted; I've no ears to hear them Since my love departed. Over distant hill-tops Sunset fires are burning, I've no eyes to see them Till my love's returning. Stars of Heav'n direct him Till my eyes behold him; God in Heav'n protect him Till my arms enfold him!
