by Carel Vosmaer (1826 - 1888)

In 't avondduister dwaal ik
Language: Dutch (Nederlands)
In 't avondduister dwaal ik
Den weg op langs haar huis;
Van liefde lispt het maanlicht
Met 't popelbladgesuis.

Dat huis is 't heilgenschrijntje,
Waar 't heiligje in woont,
Dat wondren doet en liefdrijk
Mijn eeredienst beloont.

Wanneer 'k hier kom aanbidden
En siddrend opwaarts zie,
Dan glanst er een aureole,
Om 't huis, van poëzie.
