O Welt, ich sag’ dir gern ade, So reich an Lust, so voll von Weh; Ade, mich lockt aus dir heraus Ein stiller Freund, ein friedlich Haus. Dem Tod hab’ ich ins Aug’ geschaut Da ward sein Blick mir so vertraut, Ihm folg’ ich gern und rufst du mir Dann, Gott, führt mich ein Freund zu dir. Und deckt mich dunkel Moos und Stein, Ich lieg’ als wie im Sonnenschein, Ich schlaf’ so still, ich ruh’ so warm Mich wiegt ein Freund, der Tod, im Arm.
