by Gottfried Keller (1819 - 1890)

Ratzenburg
Language: German (Deutsch)
Die Ratzenburg will Grossstadt werden
Und schlägt die alten Linden um;
Die Türme macht sie gleich der Erden
Und steckt gerad, was traulich krumm.
Am Stadtbach wird ein Quai erbauet
Und einen Boulevard man schauet
Vom untern bis zum obern Tor;
Dort schreitet elegant hervor
Die Gänsehirtin Katherine,
Die herrlich statt der Krinoline,
Zu aller Schwestern blassem Neide,
Trägt einen Fassreif stolz im Kleide.
So ist gelungen jeder Plan,
Doch niemand sieht das Nest mehr an!
