by Édouard Guinand (1838 - 1909)

Le calme
Language: French (Français)
CHŒUR DES ONDINES ET DES PÊCHEURS
Dans l'air embaumé,
La vague écumante
Pleure et se lamente,
Ainsi qu'une amante
Loin du bien-aimé.

Sortant d'un nuage
Le soleil joyeux,
Comme en un mirage,
D'éclats radieux
Emplit le rivage.

Reprenons sans peur,
Nos courses rapides :
Sur les flots humides,
Dans les cieux limpides,
Plus une vapeur...

La voile blanche
Sur nous se penche
Comme une lèvre sur un front.
L’onde est si belle
Que la nacelle
Peut y compter chaque aviron

Sur son écume,
Qui vole et fume,
Le soleil met des diamants !
O mer tranquille,
Ton flot docile
Sait endormir bien des tourments !
