Liebchens Wohnort
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  ENG
Ich weiß kein liebres Städtchen
Im ganzen deutschen Land,
Als das, wo ich mein Mädchen,
Mein traut Herzliebchen fand.

Gar einsam liegt's und stille,
Kaum daß es einer kennt;
Des Waldes grüne Fülle
Hat's von der Welt getrennt.

Ein Kirchlein das vom weiten
Schon überm Walde ragt,
Ein Turm aus grauen Zeiten
Sind seine einz'ge Pracht.

Und doch liegt mir das Städtchen
Wohl Tag und Nacht im Sinn: --
Wohnt doch mein süßes Mädchen,
Mein traut Herzliebchen drin.

Confirmed with Poetischer Hausschatz von G. Emil Barthel, Halle an des Saale: Druck und Verlag von Otto Hendel, [1896], page 326.
