by Édouard Guinand (1838 - 1909)

Les pêcheurs
Language: French (Français)
Sur la barque fragile
Que le pilote agile
Dirige loin du port
Chaque pêcheur
Balance ses filets en silence
Tandis que le Christ dort.
Mais bientôt la tempête mugit
Et sur leur tête,
Éclate en grondements ;
Et la barque éperdue
Semble à jamais perdue
Au sein des éléments.
Au cœur des hommes passe
Un effroi qui les glace,
Sinistre avant-coureur
Et leur voix en détresse
Vers le Christ qu’elle presse
Jette un cri de terreur
Alors Jésus se dresse,
Regarde avec tendresse ;
Ses disciples aimés,
Sur la barque qui penche
Il étend sa main blanche,
Sur la barque il étend sa main blanche
Et les flots sont calmés !
