Abends am Strande
Language: German (Deutsch)
Das Mondlicht glättet die Wogen
mit seinem silbernen Schein;
die Schiffer, die fortgezogen,
sie  laufen im Hafen ein.
Wie weiße Segel  ziehen
zum fernen Wunderstrand,
so die Gedanken fliehen
zu dir, mein Heimatland.

Hab' oft in Träumen gesehen
am Walde ragen das Haus,
sah Liebchen am Fenster stehen,
die winkt' in die Nacht hinaus.
Die Wandervögel ziehen
nach Süden allzumal;
o könnt' ich weit weg fliehen
zu dir, mein Heimattal !
