by Wilhelm Floto (1812 - 1869)

Wollt ihr die Englein hören im Chor
Language: German (Deutsch)
Wollt ihr die Englein hören im Chor,
Geht in den Tannenhain, lauschet empor;
Wenn sich die Zweig' im Schlaf scheinen zu biegen
Und drauf die Engelein singend sich wiegen,

Wonniger Chorgesang wird dich umweh'n,
Himmlischer Sphärenklang seliger Höh'n;
Horchest mit hoher Lust wieder und wieder,
Ruhe sich senkt auf dich segnend hernieder.

Winket die Sonne dann scheidend hinauf,
Nehmen sie himmelan wieder den Lauf
Aber im Herzen dir klinget es wieder:
Hörtest der Engelschar himmlische Lieder.
