by Karl Stieler (1842 - 1885)

Hast du es schon vergessen?
Language: German (Deutsch)
Hast du es schon vergessen
Dies Stüblein, still und klein,
Wo ich bei dir gesessen
Im webenden Sonnenschein?

Kein Schritt klang an die Pforte,
Es war so tiefe Ruh';
Da klangen selige Worte -
Und selig lauschtest du,

Hinaus ins Bergblau lugend,
Die Augen himmelwärts -
O, wie die Wonne der Jugend,
So floß es über dein Herz! - - -

Und alles das verdorrte
Und alles das verblich:
Der Sonnenschein, die Worte,
Dies Jugendglück -- und ich!
