Leise fällt der Schnee vom Himmel
Language: German (Deutsch)
Leise fällt der Schnee vom Himmel,
decket alles kühlend zu;
was am Abend sterbend lebte,
schläft schon heut' in sanfter Ruh'!

Bring' auch meinem Herzen Frieden,
kühle sanft die Wunden ein,
bringe Kühlung meinen Schmerzen,
sanften Traum der Liebe mein!

Und ich warte, warte sehnend,
starre in das Flockenheer,
und mein Herz, das mahnt mich leise
dir bringt nichts den Frieden mehr.

Jedes Jahr ruh'n die Blumen,
jeden Frühling aufersteh'n;
einmal kann dein Herz nur blühen,
einmal nur zur Ruhe geh'n.
