Solang noch Berg’ und Tale blühn,
Durch sie melodisch Flüsse ziehn,
Ein Vogel hoch im Blauen schwebt,
Goldähren licht im Westhauch wallen,
Gebirge stehn, Alphörner schallen:
Hat diese Welt nicht ausgelebt.
Und was die Menschen tun und treiben,
Ob frei sie oder Knechte bleiben,
Dem Frühling gräbt es sich nicht ein,
Kein Treiber bringt mich je in Zweifel,
-- Ist er ein Teufel aller Teufel --
Er ändert nicht der Sonne schein.
