Horch!  Wie ein Echo jenes mächt'gen Werde,
Das einst des Chaos Finsterniß gebannt, 
Durchbebt die schwarzen Nebel leises Wehen, 
Der Himmel rief  --  die Fee der Nacht entschwand. 

Dein, königlicher Tag, ist nun die Erde, 
Dein ist, anbetend, das gewalt'ge Meer, 
Auf Deinem Haupte glüht die Morgenröthe, 
Wie eine Herrscherkrone, ewig hehr. 

In Deiner Rechten ruht, ein Flammenscepter, 
Das heil'ge Licht, und seine keusche Gluth 
Strömt nieder auf die durst'ge Frühlingserde, 
Mild tränkend sie mit seiner Segensfluth.  

In meine Seele auch sank hoch vom Himmel 
Des Lichtes Perle, wie ein Wunderthau, 
Und wonnig bebet sie, wie Rosen beben, 
Bei'm ersten Zephirsweh'n auf junger Au'.
