La rose et l'abeille
Language: French (Français)
Une charmante rose
qu'animait doux zéphir
disait : – à peine éclose
demain il faut mourir.

Ah ! si l'on venait sur terre
y vivre un seul jour,
on ne meurt pas, j'espère,
sans connaître l'amour.

Mais la rose vermeille
n'attendit pas en vain.
Une légère abeille
se posa sur son sein.

Que mon cœur, lui dit-elle,
te serve de séjour,
oh ! la vie est si belle
quand on connait l'amour.

Dans son brillant calice
mystérieux réduit
l'abeille avec délice
passa toute la nuit.

Et la rose fanée
disait avec le jour,
– pour mourir fortunée
il faut mourir d'amour !
