Offerande

Gij liet de vlinders dansen aan de bloemen,
en blije bijen zacht in 't zonlicht zoemen,
er was een vreugd in 't groene waaien van de wieren
en teedere verzoeking in den geur der anjelieren.
Het water stroomde stil rond elke nenufaar,
de hyacinten droomden, van verlangen zwaar . . .

Omdat de dag zoo blauw, zoo zoet van zon mocht zijn,
aanvaard deze avondofferande
van roode rozenregen en jasmijn.
