Zigeunerliedje.
De zangen zijn verruischt,
de storm is langs gevaren
de dennen zwijgen in verstild bedaren.
 
De gasten zijn gegaan,
de stemmen zijn verklonken,
de laatste droppel uit den beker is gedronken.
 
Als lijkwaden hangen de misten
om boomen in treurende risten;
de mossen dampen, de zwammen gisten.
 
Voorbij, voorbij
is de zomer voor mij!
