by Joannes Reddingius (1873 - 1944)

Zangrig blaast een knaap de fluit
Language: Dutch (Nederlands)
Zangrig blaast een knaap de fluit,
laat zijn liedje klinken ,
' t lichten van den dag heeft uit,
de avond kwam te zinken.

Dralend praalt het luchte-goud,
' t doet zoo stil mij poozen,
' k weet niet, hoe ik, arm en oud,
denk aan roode rozen.

' t Liedje zwijgt, het woud wordt stil ,
' k leef in schoon verblijden ,
' t klinkt diep in mij voort, ik wil
zóó den dag verbeiden.

Confirmed with Joannes Reddingius, Johanneskind; gedichten De Maatschappij voor Goede en Goedkoope Lectuur 1913 p.52
