Her lå en gård
Language: Danish (Dansk)
Her lå en gård i gammel tid,
den tegner sig for tanken
med mosser tag og lang og hvid
bag ælmene på banken.

"Nakjælen" var dens fynske navn;
Den faldt for tordenilden.
Nu står dens træers tomme favn
så kummertyst om kilden.

Det sørger i den dunkle ælm
og gennem lyse lønne.
Men kilden spinder dem, den skælm,
de sørgeflor så grønne.

Den ler: vær glad, vift sorgen hen!
Jeg lover jer, skønt lille,
et hjem at værne om igen,
så sandt jeg er en kilde.

I hvisker om den sunkne gård
med tung, erfaren susen.
I suste vel i hundred år?
Men jeg har smilt i tusind!
