Svøbt i diset sølvskin
Language: Danish (Dansk)
Svøbt i diset sølvskin
sommermånen svømmed,
mens i sommernatten
duggrå marker drømmed.
Ene gik jeg - lytted, lytted,
mens jeg nærmed mig "Nakjælen".
  Ovre fra det sorte
  hegn en ugles vrælen.

Fløj den? Alt blev stilhed,
da jeg stod derinde
med min fod, inde der, hvor kilden
før var vant at rinde.
Men fra jorden klang en gråd,
spandt i mørket tyst sin tråd;
  hjælpeløst og stille
  græd den døde kilde.

Var det kildens genfærd?
Drømte jeg det dengang?
Siden har jeg lyttet -
ingen kildes genklang.
Men hvor ingen sprudlen vælder,
er den ingen hulken heller.
  Nu står ælm og lønne
  ligegyldig grønne.
