by Friedrich Hermann Frey (1839 - 1911), as Martin Greif

Die Alpenblumen
Language: German (Deutsch)
Auf den hohen Bergen wohnen
Blumen mancher süßen Art:
Primeln, Rosen, Anemonen
Birgt die Wildniß wunderzart.

Frische Quellen, sanfte Wiesen
Nähren sie so traut und lieb,
Doch auch von den Felsen grüßen
Manche, wo ein Plätzlein blieb.

Sind es wohl nur kleine Sterne,
Kelche ohne stolze Pracht --
Von den Alpenblumen lerne
Nutzen, was dir zugedacht.

Alle nicht auf Blumenweiden
Können wir geboren sein,
Und es wohne hold Bescheiden
Allen unser'n Wünschen ein.
