Das Meer klang wie die großen Harfen klingen
Der alten Meister, die die Erde deckt.
Ein feierliches Leuchten kam vom Mond,
Und sanft verschleiert dunkelten die Wälder.

Wir schritten an dem heiligen Wasser hin
Und lauschten auf die Melodien der Nacht,
Still atmend wie das Glück, das mit uns ging.
Ich faßte schweigend in dein dunkles Haar
Und küßte seinen Glanz gedankenvoll,
Wie man die ersten Blüten küßt im Mai.
