Septembrie cu roze

Sînt ultimele roze, septembrie, și sînt
Cădelnițări de smirnă îngemănate-n vînt;
Parfumuri potolite se leagănă-n grădină:
Amurgul toamnei pune miresmelor surdină.

Septembrie cu roze de aur s-a gătit,
Cu roze înflorite ce scad în asfințit,
Ca să renască mîine din ce în ce mai pale
În aurore stinse de perle și opale.

Surîsurile noastre iluminînd ușor
Sînt roze-n-tirziate pe frunzele ce mor;
În parcul plin odată de largi apoteoze
Surîsurile noastre sînt ultimele roze.
