Il la prodigue, en sa clarté,
Au va-et-vient de ses milliers de mains,
De palmes et de feuilles,

Et la bonne ombre, où il accueille,
Après de longs chemins,
Nos pas,
Verse, à nos membres las,
Une force vivace et douce
Comme ses mousses.

Quand l'étang joue avec le vent et le soleil,
Un coeur vermeil
Semble habiter au fond de l'eau
Et battre, ardent et jeune, avec le flot ;
Et les glaïeuls dardés et les roses ferventes,
Qui dans leur splendeur bougent,
Tendent, du bout de leurs tiges vivantes,
Leurs coupes d'or et de sang rouge.
