Rougeaud comme jambon en foire,
Qui s'ébaudissait au couvent
Du petit Saint-André-sur-Loire ?
Il ne lisait aucun grimoire,
Mais noyait, en franc déchaussé,
Au fond du pot son a b c.
Las ! le deuil est au réfectoire,
Frère Panuce est trépassé.

Le bon diable ! Aux fêtes d'Avent
-- mme il jouait de la mâchoire !
Il s'en allait, flairant le vent,
Du côté de la rôtissoire.
S'il buvait sec, on le peut croire.
