Wie ladest du zur Wellenbahn
Language: German (Deutsch)
Wie ladest du zur Wellenbahn,
O Sonne, Himmelsschein!
Es wieget leise sich der Kahn
Die Ruder tauchen ein!
Schon schweben wir im Flug dahin,
Entlang dem dunkeln Wald.
Er rauscht und neigt sich, mitzuziehn,
Wir aber scheiden bald.

Denn immer weiter führt die Fluth,
Der stillen Hoffnung Trieb,
Als suchte sie ein süßes Gut,
Das in der Ferne blieb.
O Echo, das vom Berge schallt,
Du gleichest unserm Glück:
Wenn einst die Gegenwart verhallt,
Erinnrung tönt zurück.
